TRANSyT receives an award for the Development and Maintenance of the Metropolitan Mobility Observatory. The award has been granted by the ITS Spain Association.
On April 16, the Transport Research Center (TRANSyT) of the Polytechnic University of Madrid received the award from Elisa Barahona, General Director of Sustainability and Mobility Planning of the Madrid City Council. In this way, the work of the center to develop the Observatory of Metropolitan Mobility (WMO) and maintain it despite the financing difficulties that have occurred in recent years is recognized.
The WMO has become an essential tool to know first-hand the general trends of mobility in Spanish metropolitan areas, through the analysis of essential mobility indicators. The award was collected by Dr. Rocío Cascajo, who thanked the work done since 2003 to all her team and the members of the WMO (Transport Authorities and other permanent members), as well as the support received from Administrations and Public Institutions.
