[23-04-2015] On April 23 and 24, 2015, the I Scientific Campus organized by the Transport Engineering Forum was held at the Lucas Olazábal Residence of the UPM in Cercedilla, Madrid. On April 23 and 24, 2015, the I Scientific Campus organized by the Transport Engineering Forum was held at the Lucas Olazábal Residence of the UPM in Cercedilla, Madrid. The campus was aimed at disseminating and exchanging ideas of the research advances of doctoral students in the area of transport.
A total of 50 people, including doctoral students, professors and transport experts, attended the campus organized in four sessions in two days. It was attended by 23 doctoral students, from 10 Spanish universities, who presented their research advances in topics such as: the private vehicle, road transport infrastructures, environmental impact, economic aspects and planning, port infrastructure, the city, transport services and their modelling.
The campus was developed in a natural environment such as the Fuenfría Valley within the Guadarrama National Park, which helped to carry out various extra activities such as a walk along the Roman Causeway of Puerto de la Fuenfría, or a trivial about transport and history that the "Trans-Siberian" team won.
The campus was closed with the delivery of diplomas. Two TRANSyT colleagues were awarded.
Andrés García Martínez was awarded the prize for the best work presented at the I Scientific Campus for his paper entitled "Car consumption and emissions models base don average speed by incorporating urban driving patterns".You will have a travel bag of € 1,000 for a stay in a foreign research center.
Paola Bueno Cadena was awarded a second prize for her work "Measuring the distributional impact of Madrid's public transport subsidy policy: Does income explain travel pass usage"
