Presentation of the Corell Foundation Study, Economic Balance: Fiscal… on November 19, 2014, in Madrid.
The Presentation of the Study, "Economic Balance: fiscal, social and environmental of the freight transport sector in Spain" will take place next Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at the Hotel Miguel Angel, C / Miguel Angel, 29, Madrid, at 10.30 am.
This Study was prepared and published by the Francisco Corell Foundation in 2008 and the Board of Trustees decided (2014) to review and update its content. The work carried out by the TRANSyT team of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, led by Professor José Manuel Vassallo, has been elaborated with great rigor in the calculations and a veracity of the data used that are missing in the public demonstrations of some actors involved in the modes of transport that make up the sector.
Road transport in general and goods transported by truck in particular is subject in Spain to a large tax burden, mainly due to the high specific taxation of the road mode. This increased tax burden on roads, together with tax exemptions, subsidies and bonuses for other modes, creates a distortion of competition which greatly harms road freight transport.
In the same act, the book "100 x 17" published by GRUPO XXI will also be presented, a report on the volume, size and financial economic status of road freight transport in the Autonomous Communities, according to the first 100 companies of each of them.
