TRANSyT participates in the promotion of sustainable mobility in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.
TRANSyT prepares the technical document for the diagnosis of current mobility in the surroundings of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park (PNSG) that serves as an impulse to develop a future Mobility Plan that guarantees the conservation of the natural values of the PNSG and the accessibility of people, always taking into account the residents of the municipalities of the area of socioeconomic influence.
The project directors, Andrés Monzón and Belén Martín, presented the study at the first meeting of the working group chaired by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Territorial Planning, Pablo Altozano. All the agents involved in the management and mobility of the PNSG, representatives of the Community of Madrid and the Junta de Castilla y León, different organizations and local entities participated.
The document prepared consists of an in-depth analysis of the accessibility to the Sierra del Guadarrama National Park, identifying the points of greatest pressure located on this Park, as well as the origins and slopes of access for visitors. Based on the results of the analysis, and with the support of the consultative process carried out, sustainable mobility scenarios will be designed to, finally, propose integrated measures that are grouped into four lines of improvement.
The purpose is that these lines of improvement are a starting point so that, in future meetings of the working group, from them the selected projects are developed.
The Master Plan for Use and Management (PRUG) is the framework of action where the document prepared and the future Mobility Plan are located. The proposed improvement 
groups seek to meet the objectives defined in the PRUG: Promotion of public transport; Reduction of the carbon footprint; and look for alternatives to the use of the private vehicle.
