José Manuel Vassallo holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a degree in Economics from the UNED. He was a visiting fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is currently Professor of the Department of Transport Engineering, Territory and Urban Planning at the UPM, and coordinator of the research line in economics and financing of transport at the Transport Research Center (TRANSyT) of the same university. His professional career has been linked to the world of teaching, research and specialized consultancy in the field of transport economics and, specifically, in the evaluation, regulation and financing of infrastructures and services. Recently she has been working on the impact of new technologies on mobility business models. He has published internationally in his field of research. Among other professional activities, it is worth mentioning his work for the General Coordination of Concessions of the Ministry of Public Works of Chile, the European Investment Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF). He is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the Spanish Ministry of Public Works.
