José Javier Muruzábal Irigoyen is Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Applied to Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Head of the Statistics Teaching Unit of the Civil Engineering degree. D. from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and expert in Transport Planning and Economics. His lines of research include the following elements: design and execution of field work, as a basis for mobility analysis and the supply of demand models that allow the evaluation of transport investment projects or strategies. In this sense, he has developed methodological innovations in mobility research, such as efficient sampling, Mobility Calendars, Continuous Mobility Assessment Techniques or Modal Distribution Models. He combines his teaching and research activity with that of a consultant in his speciality, managing the firm TÁRYET Ingeniería del transporte for the last twenty years. This firm has worked in more than fifteen countries in Europe, America, Asia and Africa, both for the different Multilateral Entities that operate in these continents and for local Administrations.
