Shireen Al Suleiman is a postdoctoral researcher at the Transport Research Center (TRANSyT) at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). She completed her PhD in Civil Engineering Systems at UPM in 2023 with the highest honors.

 Her research focuses on transport engineering and infrastructure management. From 2021 to 2023, she was a PhD student at TRANSyT, working on public transport user satisfaction projects and transportation planning, including the TrackBest-3S project. Previously, she was a project manager at the Ministry of Transport in Syria and an assistant highway engineer at RAUROS, “TYPSA Group” in Spain.

Dr. Al Suleiman has participated in multiple transportation conferences, such as the Transportation Engineering Forum (FIT) in Madrid, the XV Transportation Engineering Conference (CIT) in Tenerife, and the 2024NECTAR Conference in Brussels. She has published in JCR-indexed journals, including the European Transport Research Review and Transportation Research Procedia. She has also delivered seminars in multiple languages on transport engineering at the University of Cuenca “UCLM” and the University of Tangier “FST” and co-directed a graduation project for a student in this field.
